Colleen Horstman

Position: Third Grade Teacher 

Education: Dordt College in 2010 with a BA in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Early Childhood.

My teaching style is guided by my educational philosophy.  I believe that each child has been created in the image of God and displays different attributes of our amazing Creator!  I view each one as a unique child of God and work to discover how God designed each one to learn.  I choose several different instructional and practice strategies throughout the school day as I teach.  As I get to know my students, I discover how they were created to learn and work to incorporate those styles into my lessons. 
I pray my teaching will reflect my belief that EVERY child is created to explore, discover and learn!  

One of my favorite Bible verses that guides my teaching is taken from I Peter, “…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”
